We brought you the news yesterday on the latest court delay for the Resolution Copper project, and now President Trump has weighed in. Last night, the President wrote on Truth Social of the court delays to this much needed project, quote, "Those that fought it are Anti-American, and representing other Copper competitive Countries. We can't continue to allow this to happen to the U.S.A.!" The President's public support for the project followed a meeting yesterday between the President, Interior Secretary Doug Burgum and the chief executives of Rio Tinto and BHP.

China's exports of rare earth magnets bounced back strongly in July, hitting a six-month high, showing trade flows of minerals vital to electric vehicles have returned to levels seen before Beijing imposed export curbs. Exports from China rose nearly 75% compared with June, according to data released today.

And even as it eases some of the tight restrictions it has recently introduced, China is showing no signs that it will relinquish its global minerals dominance. China told Afghanistan earlier today that Beijing is eager to explore and mine minerals in Afghanistan and wants Kabul to formally join its Belt and Road Initiative. China's Foreign Minister is visiting Kabul this week to discuss with Afghanistan's Foreign Minister how the two countries can expand cooperation in a range of areas.
