And it seems Exxon Mobile wants to dig deeper into the market that will power electric vehicles and is getting into the graphite business with the acquisition of Kentucky based Superior Graphite. The plant produces graphite, a key ingredient in lithium-ion batteries, and the deal also includes Superior Graphite's research and development facility.
