Yinka welcomes the award-winning, anarchic, madcap comedian, Andy Zapp to open that Hurt Locker door on his mental health experiences.
At a spritely 76 years old, with a glint in his eye and a coffee in his midst, Andy has some twisting tales and eyebrow-raising experiences to share with us: from growing up within an immigrant Polish family in post-war London to coming of age in the swinging 60s as the self-proclaimed 'Egon Ronay of toilets down in the West End'.
In homage to his current touring showcase 'Sex & Drugs & Getting Old' Andy, details how an 'all or nothing' lifestyle was shaped and slung to form the 'clean and serene' Andy of today- a talented comic force with a powerful message of recovery to share.
*TRIGGER WARNING* This open conversation shares references to substance misuse, drug addiction, alcoholism, bereavement and suicide.
If you are experiencing mental health issues please do reach out for help - phone 999 for an emergency or if you would like to speak to someone call The Samaritans on 116 123
