Description

We welcome, Founder and Director of Recovery Runners CiC, Stephen Melling to open that Hurt Locker door on his mental health experiences.

Stephen shares how the early trauma of losing his late uncle led to an addiction of drink and drugs in order to self-medicate against the stress and anxiety he felt as a young man and child.

Despite, holding down several successful business ventures and roles, he explains how these addictions worsened and how he reached that point of no return, facing prison and his own suicidal thoughts and how it was running that enabled him to make those life-saving changes he needed to begin his recovery.

*TRIGGER WARNING* This open conversation shares references to substance misuse, drug addiction, alcoholism, bereavement by suicide and suicidal thoughts.
