Description

In 1992, working as an industrial electrician, Gary Norland came in contact with a live power line, sending 12,000+ volts through him instantly. Sustaining electrical burns over more than a third of his body, and undergoing 60+ surgeries, Gary now tours the country presenting safety workshops and inspiring a new generation of tradespeople to always be aware of what cutting corners can cost. Gary's wife Jeanne also joins him for these speaking engagements, detailing the ripple effects that an accident can have on one's family, their co-workers and their community.

After their recent presentation at last month's Ozinga Safety Summit, we thought it important to bring Gary and Jeanne into our studios for an in-depth discussion with Ozinga Health & Safety VP Adam Pummer on safety culture, and their journey through this life-altering experience.
