This season we will cover our failed John Muir Trail thru hike, detailing how we navigated both the trail and trauma recovery while backpacking.

The 2017 conditions of the John Muir Trail were record-breaking and historic. Record-breaking snow pack created intense water crossings, and snow cupping and post-holing as the snow melted making traversing passes slow going in the early season. Though it also alleviated concerns about access to water. These conditions dissipated through the season and were not necessarily our experience.
