Each one of us is fortunate to be on this planet for the limited time that we have. We are lucky to have the opportunity to make choices about where we live, how we live, and can decide what we live for. This has created mass confusion for many millennials, and yet somehow, they too will figure it out. The endless web of choices is liberating, and technology has created space for these choices. However, it also complicates things for us because we must determine what the “right” choices are, and perhaps battle the little voice of “fomo” in ours heads. In today’s age of exploration, losing sight of the basics and getting caught up in mass marketed conveniences is too easy. Deep down though, we intuitively know which are and are not the healthiest choices for our minds and bodies. Making positive and healthy choices for ourselves is the ultimate symbol of self-love. In order to truly love ourselves, we need to fuel our bodies with the right food, and Marc Wood, a whole foods plant-based health coach, is here to tell us why.
Marc is all about Energy, with a capital E. When you meet him, you can instantly feel his vivacious lust for life. He’s an open book, and spares no details – for example, we learn that Marc was delivered by a midwife in the upstairs bedroom of his home in Scotland, and that the forceps left indents on his skull you can still see today. Why is this important, you wonder? It’s important because Marc is the embodiment of being real and honest, which explains his deserved self-confidence and ability to give others the confidence to love themselves too…through food. Marc has lived in Scotland, London, Madrid, Israel, New York, and amongst other things is an avid triathlete and sets the bar high as one of the most jacked 40-something-year-olds we know.
Marc genuinely wants to heal people by helping them capture their own energy and transmit it in a positive way. Through his own experience, he has learned that a whole foods plant-based diet is the best way to conduct this healing, and it is his mission to use his health coaching practice to successfully transition clients to a plant-based diet. Through a simple 2, 4, or 6-week plan, Marc coaches, cooks and grocery shops with his clients to ensure long term success for life as a compassionate vegan. Self-love, says Marc, starts in the kitchen. As a former bartender in New York, Marc had to play the role of psychologist, marriage counselor, and confidant, which is where he first learned how to explore places far beneath the surface. Is it really the job that’s killing you, or is it the fact that you aren’t treating yourself with respect? Marc believes that the solution is simple: food is fuel and we must sustain ourselves with the best quality high-octane fuel known to man – plants. Sound simple enough? It should be, honestly.
