Flow is a concept that has been largely associated with superhuman performances. We can all point to moments in sports and entertainment where a star “makes it look so easy.” We even pay money to see these prodigies in action, such as attending a Broadway musical, a football game, or a Coldplay concert (a personal favorite). Flow captures our attention and conjures the human spirit, even if just for a fleeting moment, leaving behind both an impression and an aspiration for personal greatness. There’s something mystical about our ability to feel positive sensations when experiencing another person’s flow.
But back here on planet Earth, the fact of the matter is we do not have to be superstars or celebrities in order to experience this superhuman flow. In fact, flow resides within each of us. It is your ability to harness that flow and make it your own that will define who you are and what you are capable of. Approaching healthy living and wellness with a purposeful and deliberate flow is critical to accomplishing your goals. It may sound ordinary, but the same flow that that will lead to your success is the one that brings Olympic athletes to their medals. It requires discipline, sacrifice, and will power – all key ingredients to greatness.
In today’s episode, we highlight just a few examples during the month of March where we captured our own spirit of flow in order to promote living well and the joys of a plant-based diet. We talk about the hot topic of intuitive eating and how to withstand subliminal social pressures, which aren’t really pressures when you set an intention and focus. Finally, we discuss the irrefutable importance of grocery shopping and cooking at home in order to connect with your food, build your body, and experience the bliss of your most healthy self.
