Jason has devoted his life to scholarship and research. As a historian, he has committed himself to ensuring current and future generations do not repeat our storied history. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts in Social Science and a Master of Arts in History from Jackson State University for this reason and more. The core of his research was embedded in the Civil Rights Era as a theory and practice. His thesis, Student Activism and Organizing During Freedom Summer: An Examination of Mentorship and Organizing in Mississippi through Tougaloo College, provided a framework for future generations. It is this premise and others, that has led him to pursue opportunities to train and shape future minds.
