Judith Ann Jones was born on September 18, 1955 the sixth of the eleven eventual Jones siblings. Judy attended UW-Milwaukee, where she earned a bachelor's degree in education and a masters degree in special education and learning disabilities. For over three decades, she taught at Milwaukee Public Schools including Hampton Elementary and Sherman Elementary, where she was awarded teacher of the year honors.
Judy met her eventual husband Mark Wachniak while the two were still teenagers. The couple had three children, and divorced in 2001. Judy is personable, entertaining, generous, and funny. As evidenced by the fact that she may frequently be found power walking around the Washington Heights neighborhood in brightly colored clothing during extreme weather conditions, she is also steadfast, hardworking, and (no surprise to her family) usually a little stubborn.
