Louis Le Prince was a French pioneer and a man who many refer to as ‘The Father of Cinematography’ – as Louis Le Prince was involved in creating one of the very first motion picture cameras – or video cameras, as they’re known today. In September of 1890, Louis Le Prince mysteriously vanished without a trace after boarding a train heading from Dijon to Paris. As a result, Louis Le Prince was unable to demonstrate his video equipment in America – which was the next major step in his career. One compelling theory surrounding Louis Le Prince's death is that Thomas Edison – the self-proclaimed inventor of the light bulb – had Louis Le Prince killed in order to further develop Thomas Edison's own motion picture technology without the threat of others taking over the market.
