In June of 1974, a 14-year-old girl known as Margaret Fox vanished while on her way to meet a stranger in New Jersey. She was hoping to make a bit of extra money during her summer vacation, and had posted babysitting ads in the local papers. She was quickly contacted by a man who wanted her to babysit for him at his home near Mount Holly. However, Margaret’s mother wouldn’t allow this – as she didn’t want her working out of town. However, Margaret side-stepped her mother’s wishes and gained permission from her father. The man claimed he would pay her $40 a week to watch his five-year-old son for a couple hours each weekend. The case has still not been solved to this day, and considering the strange amount of evidence that has gone missing, it seems unlikely that the case will see closure any time soon.
