Buying your own groceries sounds like a simple task to some and can be daunting for others. The key to fueling your body with the right foods from the Supermarket is education. This may sound silly to some but learning to shop can make a large impact on the foods you consume.
First, make a list. This is akin to not having a plan, is planning to fail. When you create a list of items you need, not want, you are making a plan. Sticking to your list is key.
Second, shop the perimeter first. This is the part of the store where the fresh fruits, vegetables and proteins are found, the natural once living items you need for fuel. Then you can go down the aisles that have items you need on your list. By not going up and down each aisle, you will save time and alleviate the processed foods found in the interior of the store.
Remember to stick to your plan for snacks and meals, fresh vegetables, fruits, and protein that are natural and not processed should be at the heart of your list. These are the foods that fuel you!
