Felida Villarreal

Felida Villarreal is the President and CEO of the Valley Initiative for Development and Advancement (VIDA), a nonprofit that helps low-income and underemployed residents of the Rio Grande Valley train for high-demand, high-wage careers. VIDA offers industry-focused education, financial assistance, and career support for adult learners, including parents and first-generation students. Over the past 30 years, VIDA has helped more than 6,000 people complete training programs, achieving a 96% persistence rate. Her leadership has earned national recognition and support from organizations like Texas Mutual Insurance, AEP Foundation, and Methodist Healthcare Ministries, Fast Company and Nonprofit PRO and was one of only nine programs nationwide chosen for the U.S. Department of Labor’s PACE evaluation.
