911 dispatchers are often the unsung heroes of emergency services. They work behind the scenes, acting as the first responder for numerous traumatic events. Nearly 40 percent of dispatchers experience burnout, which is almost double the burnout rate for “normal” jobs (1). However, most dispatchers believe they are safe both on and off the job.
