Behind a near flawless performance from quarterback Marcus Mariota and some opportunistic defense, the Falcons beat the San Francisco 49ers 28-14 at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday Mariota completed 13 of 14 passes for 129 yards and two touchdowns. He also rushed six times for 50 yards. The defense, led by linebackers Rashaan Evans and Troy Andersen, shut down the 49ers vaunted rushing attack and held them scoreless in the second half of the game. Evans and Andersen finished with 12 tackles each.
