Falcons general manager Thomas Dimitroff told us that tight end Austin Hooper, linebacker De'Vondre Campbell and offensive guard Wes Schweitzer would be allowed to reach unrestricted free agency status on March 18. The team's hands are tied because of the lack of salary cap space and by the ongoing Collective Bargaining Agreement negotiations with the NFLPA, which is unhappy about playing a 17-game season. In the meantime, the Falcons, who are holding out hope they can eventually re-sign the players, are in a bind.
