All eyes are on Trentside this week as attention turns to Nottingham Forest’s first home match of this season’s Europa League.
There’s perhaps nothing more special than a match under the lights at the City Ground – an historic stadium that has seen iconic moments over the years from the club’s first goal in the European Cup from Garry Birtles and Robertson’s diving header against Cologne to the UEFA Cup and Paul McGregor v Lyon and that final goal at home in Europe from Steve Stone against Bayern Munich.
Our fans in Seville last week were treated to a wonderful first 45 minutes and a fabulous Igor Jesus brace and to come away with a point certainly felt great in the whole context of this being our first go at Europe for so long. But a win is crucial for Forest right now. Not just for this competition and getting us up the table but for the wider value that victory will bring. The players want it. The fans are desperate for it. Ange needs it...
