Nick is joined by Daniel Childs (@SonOfChelsea) for the 38th and final episode of the season.
First up we give initial opening thoughts on the season just gone before breaking down Chelsea’s season into three parts. It all starts in August as we look back on an eventful seven games Thomas Tuchel took charge off before his departure & how things were unlikely to improve had he stayed. We then move on to to his replacement Graham Potter & look back at his pretty desperate 7 month reign. Finally we reflect on life after his departure with Bruno Saltor’s one and only game in charge and then Frank Lampard’s 11 game spell.
We look back at our predictions we made on the pod at the end of July, some which were miles off the mark & some that were scarily accurate.
Then we move onto our season awards. The awards are as follows:
Goal of the season
Player of the season
Most improved player
Unsung hero
Player with biggest turnaround
Most disappointing player
Match of season
High point of the season
Moment of the season
Funny moment of season
Biggest disappointment (moment/match)
Manager of the season
We reflect on the careers of those who are leaving the club & discuss the owner’s statement that was released Thursday.
Finally Daniel gives his thoughts on Mauricio Pochettino and offers a message of hope for next season.
