The final podcast of our four-part Birdsville races sees the return of racegoer Andrew Redston who previously featured in Ep 149 - On the road to Birdsville races. Andrew is now back at Birdsville for this year's race meeting.
The podcast is split into two halves. In the first half Andrew looked back on his 2022 Birdsville races experience, the rain, and how the journey to the outback, 10,000 km in Andrew's case, helped him on a personal level after a tough few years. “The rain added another element to Birdsville. It was really cool” said Andrew.
“I wanted the Birdsville experience, as they say, and I think I covered a lot of ground” reflected Andrew.
You will also hear about his boxing exploits in the Fred Brophy tent. Not what you expect when you go to the races!
In the second half Andrew reveals why he decided to take the path back to Birdsville, though not for the Boxing, as part of the Roadies. Andrew has kindly added the Paddock and The Pavilion logo to the back of his truck!
Andrew has now arrived in Birdsville. He went racing on the first day where he backed a winner in Race 2!
