On the eve of National Racehorse Week, I was joined by the man who came up with the idea, trainer Richard Phillips. Richard discusses the plans for this key week for the racing industry while trainers Kim Bailey and Ilka Gansera Leveque, and stud owner Eileen Harte of Harte bloodstock, who are all opening their doors to the public, make guest appearances on the show.
“For one week of the year we need to celebrate the racehorse and to show Britan and the World how good we are looking after these animals,” said Richard. Over 120 trainers are due to open to the public during the week with 13,000 people already having booked their free place.
