A Hamilton-based hearing specialist will be running a 500km Ultramarathon in Missouri to raise hearing test pledges through the National Campaign for Better Hearing. 

 

The campaign was established to provide proper hearing assessments to everyone over the age of 60 and to give back to local communities.

Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia are on the rise in Canada. 

 

Working on preventing brain disease can start at any age, and luckily, you can even get benefits when you’re in your senior years. A 2009 study in the journal Gerontology suggests that regular exercise across the lifespan can help with cognitive function.
