May 17 was  International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia (IDAHOT), a worldwide day of celebration of sexual and gender diversity, focused on raising awareness against discrimination based on gender and sexual orientation. 

 

Have we made progress in the fight against discrimination, or, is there still  a long way to go?

For the first time, the Run for Women is coming to Hamilton. 

 

The Run for Women has raised over $3.4 million dollars for local mental health services.

 

Guest: Debby Costa, pharmacist owner, Shoppers Drug Mart. She is also the co-captain for the Run for Women team in the Hamilton race.

 

Tom Brady won a Super Bowl at 39, an age when most quarterbacks are retired or in decline. Jaromir Jagr, led his team in scoring at the age of 44, which was double the age of some of his teammates. And Dara Torres, the elite swimmer, won three Olympic medals at the age of 41, the oldest female swimmer to compete in the games.​
