Did you know that nearly one in seven Canadian girls have either left school early or missed school entirely because they did not have access to period products? This lack of access is often referred to as“period poverty” and although it can affect anyone with a period, it can have a particularly big impact for girls at puberty.

A new clinical trial taking place in Hamilton is giving life-saving hope to the more than 68,000 patients with Crohn’s disease and ulcerative colitis in the province, including 5,000 patents in the Halton region.

She fought cancer twice, beat it, lost an arm because of it, and is now battling it for the third time.  And oh yes, she lost her husband as well.  How does she go on?  She shares her story.
