A fan threw a can at Baltimore Orioles outfielder Hyun Soo Kim during the seventh inning of Tuesday’s AL wild card game. With the score tied 2-2, pinch-hitter Melvin Upton Jr. flied out to the track in left. Kim made the catch despite the can narrowly missing him as it came out of the stands behind him. Centre-fielder Adam Jones gestured toward the seats, and manager Buck Showalter came out to register his displeasure with the umpires. It was not immediately known whether the fan was ejected. Should the Rogers Centre still be serving beer in cans after this incident?

B.C. MP Gord Johns introduced a private member’s bill Tuesday, calling for a national cycling strategy. “Our country is facing many challenges including soaring healthcare and infrastructure costs, reducing GHG emissions, and traffic congestion,” declares a note on his website. “We need to do more to make Canada a cycling nation.” Does this country need such a strategy? Would it work with our Canadian winters?

AM640 Legal Analyst Lorne Honickman joins the show to talk Jays/Orioles, pig feeding, and the cyclist/cabbie war.
