More than 44,000 people died from cancer in 2014 making it the second most common cause of death in Australia that year, accounting for 3 in 10 deaths. Research and treatments for cancer are improving, however a common issue that has the medical community rattled is when people develop multi-drug resistances to cancer. These resistances prevent people from recovering as the cancer cells become immune to the effects of treatment.
