Although she grew up in a family with a thirst for exploring different cultures and cuisines, Hazel Burns (Dirty Moe’s, Sunshine Coast) built a career as a paramedic on Queensland’s Sunshine Coast. But after countless inspiring visits to Melbourne with her chef partner, the two hatched a plan to bring a bit of southern smoked meat inspiration to their hometown. Now they’ve created a thriving at home model, allowing consumers to heat and serve their famous smoked meats at will, and the move is paying huge dividends.
