Description

On this edition of Up Close, we continue to follow the standoff in Washington, D.C. over the government shutdown.

The government shutdown is now in its fourth week. It's already the second longest shutdown in U.S. history, and Americans are paying the price.

Republicans are pushing for a temporary funding plan with no strings attached. Meanwhile, Democrats are demanding restoration of some Obamacare subsidies, which are being cut in an effort led by President Trump.

Joining us to discuss what's at stake is Democratic U.S. Senator Cory Booker of New Jersey and Republican Congressman Mike Lawler of New York.
