Across the state and the country, rural hospitals are finding themselves in deep financial trouble. In California, its estimated at least 6 hospitals are in serious financial danger in communities that can ill afford to lose their access to medical care. We take a look at one, Hazel Hawkins Memorial Hospital, located on the Central Coast, which is facing some real challenges. Even with the State finally stepping in to offer some aid, is it too little too late?
