Part One of ‘How to Build an Online Community with Tanya Lynn’
People build an online community for different reasons. They could want human connection. They could want to be part of something greater. Whether about creating a local or virtual community, the same principles apply. It's more fulfilling when things are done together. It's one reason why we want a life partner. We don't have to face life alone. That's what brings us joy, happiness, and keeps us alive. When we're alone, we feel lonely. That's why we need a community. We need that connection.
“Technology encourage broader community participation.” – Rae Irelan (10:23-10:31)
Nowadays, you have the technology to connect with almost anyone in the world. One of the best parts about building an online community is meeting them in person. It's an incredible feeling when you get to hang out in the same room and transform each other's life. Even if it's online, it can still be considered as a community. It's all about the relationships.

There are many tools that can be used for video conference purposes. You could get on a call and interact with others as if they were in the same room. When building an online community, be ready to respond and evolve. Always look at what needs to be adjusted. You need to be receiving feedback. It helps to listen to what the people are saying.
Part Two of ‘How to Build an Online Community with Tanya Lynn’
How are you going to inspire and empower people to stay in the community? Be passionate about the vision, the end goal, and the purpose. Remind everyone to do the same. People get disconnected when they forget why they're doing something.
“Always focus on your vision.” – Tanya Lynn (18:21-18:31)
If you're interested in building a community, start initiating conversations. Find out what they want and need. You don't have to have all the answers. When someone leaves the community, don't take it personally. Just stay true to yourself.
Keep finding that balance between responding to needs and staying in alignment with your truth. Some people might create drama. We think that we need to make them happy. The critical part is learning how to value the entire community.
