Garrett shares her tips for knowing whether or not you should go on a diet, aka, attempt to lose fat over time.

She covers 5 things coaches should do for clients/questions a person should know the answer to before dieting:

1. Current exercise situation. Is it anxiety producing?

2. Diet history: do you have a history with dieting? If so, what is it?

3. Recent eating habits?

4. Lifestyle/family situation?

5. ability to commit/self-trust

She covers the 6 things to consider before dieting:

1. Are you sleeping enough?

2. Are you managing stress?

3. Is your digestive health on point?

4. Are you will/ready/able to set realistic expectations with yourself on timelines/goals

5. Are you mentally ready for this/emotionally strong/not suffering from past disordered eating?

This is a LOADED episode but she hopes that this will help someone out there who may think fat loss is the answer to their problems, when it might not be. She helps people identify what sustainable fat loss should look like. She helps people understand what to expect and adds some things you can do en lieu of a calorie deficit to feel better.
