शेतकरी आणि कष्टकऱ्यांचे कैवारी असल्याचे सांगत मोदी सरकारने अनेक कल्याणकारी योजना राबल्याचा दावा केला. पण आपल्या पहिल्या कार्यकाळात मोदी सरकारने खते, अन्नधान्य आणि इंधनावर अनुदान देताना हात आखडता घेतल्याचे दिसते. दुसऱ्या कार्याकाळात मात्र सरकारला कोरोना महामारी आणि इतर देशांमध्ये सुरु असलेले युध्द यामुळे खते आणि अन्नधान्यावरील अनुदान वाढवावे लागले. पण इंधनावरील अनुदानात मोठी कपात करून सरकारने तीप्पट कर उसूल केल्याचे दिसते.
