On this episode of Upon Further Review, we dive into all of the CRAZY action that occurred in the NHL to start free agency! First, we break down the Leafs’ signing of Reaves, Bertuzzi, Domi, and Klingberg (0:24), and then move to the Panthers’ signing of OEL and Rodrigues (20:08). Staying in the Atlantic, we discuss the Senators’ signing of Korpisalo (28:30), and then discuss the Canes’ busy start to free agency, signing Bunting, Orolov and their goalie tandem from last year (35:44). Stevie Y and the Red Wings were also involved, signing Justin Holl, Gosthisbehere, and Compher; we also discuss whether Stevie Y is regressing as a general manager (43:10). The Metro also saw Dubas and the Penguins stay busy, acquiring Smith and signing Jarry, Acciari, and Graves (54:53). To end off the Metro, we analyse the Devils’ re-signing of Meier (1:00:31), the Caps signing Pacioretty (1:04:40), and the Isles locking up Sorokin and Engvall (1:07:14). Moving into the West, the Knights sign Barbashev and Hill (1:10:56), while the Ducks lock up Gudas and Killorn (1:12:04). In the Central, Nashville signs Schenn, O’Reilly, and Nyquist (1:13:56), while the Stars sign Duchene (1:19:19).
