Although women often bring unique and invaluable experiences and perspectives to political office, there is a deficit of female politicians. In this report from On The Road at the 2018 ABA Midyear Meeting, host Laurence Colletti talks to Suzanne Anton and Ellen Rosenblum, both attorneys general, about the professional and personal challenges women face when getting involved in politics. To encourage women who are interested to run, they discuss the rewards of the job, training opportunities for those new to politics, and the necessity of have a diverse range of experience in every office.
Suzanne Anton is the former Minister of Justice and Attorney General of British Columbia.
A former federal prosecutor and state trial and appellate judge, Ellen Rosenblum was first elected to a four-year term as Oregon's 17th Attorney General.
