Description

DC The Don, born Daijon Cotty Davis, hails from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and is known for blending hip-hop, rock, and melodic rap. From playing high school basketball with NBA star LaMelo Ball to making waves in the music industry, his journey is both unique and inspiring. He began writing songs at 8 and later played basketball at Chino Hills High School alongside the Ball brothers. His breakout track, "Everything 1K," caught Lonzo Ball's attention, leading to a significant rise in his music career. Despite label issues with Run Music LLC, he found success with Rostrum Records, releasing notable tracks like "Worst Day" and "3AM Freestyle." The tragic passing of collaborator Sad Frosty in 2022 impacted him deeply, yet he continued to release hits like "PSA" and collaborated with artists like yvngxchris and midwxst. His third studio album, "Funeral," dropped in 2023, and he earned a spot on the XXL Freshman List. His song "Smashing Pumpkins" samples "1979" by The Smashing Pumpkins, blending raw lyrics and catchy hooks, reflecting his signature style and personal experiences.
