"It's a journey. It's living a front seat life." - Kelly Marie
I was on vacation in Ocean City, Maryland, when I hurt myself. I was determined to enjoy myself, despite the pain. When I got back, I had a busy work schedule and I was focused on that. I didn't have time to think about the fact that September 3rd was the anniversary of my suicide attempt. On September 2nd, I fell down my stairs and was in a lot of pain. I contemplated going to the hospital, but didn't want to end up in the same room I woke up in nine years earlier. I decided to wait and see my doctor. I was glad I did, because I was able to avoid going to that hospital. This experience was a reminder that I am still on my mental health journey and that I have to take care of myself.
