That is how many viewed Sunday's game between the New England Patriots and the Buffalo Bills. New England had one week to save their season.
It was in their grasp. Quarterback Cam Newton had the football and the Patriots were deep into Buffalo territory, already in range for kicker Nick Folk to tie the game, and within reach of a game-winning touchdown to turn the season around.
And then, it was gone. The ball was punched out of Newton's grasp, the Bills recovered, and the Patriots are left to wonder where to go from here.
