This has been a pretty heavy week in the world, so in turn we have a bit of a heavier episode. We discuss George Floyd and how the world and specifically Niantic have responded. Thanks to TheDHK and other Naintics, John Hanke wrote a heartfelt letter to his employees that clearly outlines Niantic’s plans to usher change. It is a letter that has inspired us and we hope that it also inspires you.
In the game department, we recap and prep the events and happenings including the Throwback Challenge and the release of Reshiram. We both had a chance to play during Raid Hour, but a good IV Reshiram is still hiding from us!
PokeMiners brings us an APK teardown of 0.177.0 which has some exciting nuggets including gift stickers, a charge move interface improvement, and a ton of code about AR and PokéStop Scanning. We are still waiting for Remote Raid Invites, but we can sense that it is close!
We close the show with Poke The Bear, regarding brands using their platform to speak out on social topics. While the support was overwhelmingly positive and in favor of it, we still stirred up some great dialogue. We can all learn from each other, so speaking openly is absolutely the catalyst for change.
