This episode pays homage to what many refer to as the "Golden Age" of Hip Hop. During the 90's Hip Hop's increasingly innovative and diverse styles literally shaped the entire musical landscape of the time. It was a period when Hip Hop artists seemed to reinvent the genre with each new record or single they put out. The production became denser, the rhymes and beats were elevated to higher levels and the drum machine was augmented with sampling technology which gave rise to a whole new breed of dj's and producers. The amount of groundbreaking tracks released during this time is almost limitless, so to fit it all in one hour is impossible. This set features just some of my favorite artists and music from the "Golden Age"...Enjoy!! The DMZ can be heard live Tuesday's @ 5:00pm EST only on RadioFreeBrooklyn.com 1.
