In a mysterious effort to track down lost outlaw gold, Walter teams up with his oldest childhood friend, Motley, to discover its whereabouts. Along the way, however, Walter experiences flashes from the past that cloud his focus. What could the detective's personal history reveal about himself, and who was Motley to him?
