Meet Dirk Tolouse, maker of spare-part mechs so mismatched he calls them “shmechs” (it’s a branding thing). To build his schmech empire, Dirk borrowed money from Omeng Valenti, the crimelord of the town Break-My-Back. The time to pay off that loan has come due, and Dirk isn’t going to like Valenti’s method of collecting.
