On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan talks with Missouri public land hunter Jonathan Payne about his life as a bowhunter. The guys discuss Jonathan's introduction to hunting in the mountains of California chasing mule deer with his family. Then halfway through his teens his family packed up and moved to Missouri. Jonathan admits that there is a big difference between spot and stalk mule deer hunting and stationary tree stand fore whitetails.
The guys also get in to Jonathan's approach to hunting public land and how using water ways including the shore of a lower than normal lake to backdoor a piece of public. And as you will hear him say, the first time in is the best time in. Listen as he talks about how a run and gun over fresh sign led to him arrowing a stud of a 8 point buck. Enjoy!
