On this episode of the Nine Finger Chronicles, Dan talks with Matt Branch about growing up hunting in Louisiana and coping with a tragic hunting accident. Matt talks about how his father was his main mentor growing up and how excited he got when hunting season came around every year.
As a former LSU football player, Matt tells us about having to basically sacrifice his hunting seasons for several years and dedicate all of his time to being a D1 athlete. But once his college football days were over, he instantly fell back in to his old hunting routine chasing whitetails and ducks throughout the south.
The guys end the episode with Matt reliving a tragic hunting accident that happened to him while duck hunting with friends. He walks us through the details of how the doctors had to amputate his leg in order to save his life and the struggles he has faced over the last two year. On the bright side, Matt has recovered and is back in the woods doing what he loves.
