John Driskell Hopkins is a founding member of the Grammy Award-winning Zac Brown Band, known for his rich, smooth voice and contributions to hits like "Chicken Fried." Beyond his musical success, John is a dedicated ALS advocate, using his platform to raise awareness and funds through his foundation, Hop on a Cure, following his own diagnosis in 2019. Growing up in Gainesville, Georgia, John's love for music was fostered in church choirs and high school theater. His journey from college bands to joining Zac Brown Band showcases his dedication and talent. In today’s episode, we explore John’s musical journey, his advocacy for ALS, and his personal reflections on life, family, and faith.
Each week, Tim and Troy will sit down with interesting people to have thoughtful conversations. The guests will range from celebrities, athletes, academics, doctors, authors, and more. As Tim battles his ALS diagnosis, nothing is out of bounds and there will be nothing left unsaid.
