Description

The Night Manager - the bestselling novel by John le Carré (A Most Wanted Man) is adapted for the big screen in a 6-part miniseries (BBC/AMC). Directed by Oscar-winner Susanne Bier (After the Wedding) and starring Tom Hiddleston (the next Bond?) as the night manager-turned-avenging-angel/spy, Olivia Colman (Broadchurch) as the British intelligence chief (a part originally written for a man), and Hugh Laurie (House) as "the worst man in the world". By the way, did you know Dr. House can sing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l3pGknJ9ymI)?

At least 15 le Carré novels have made it to the big screen; visit us at http://www.screenthoughts.net/#!blank-4/dmrnh to read what he himself thinks of this latest adaptation. While watching the series, be sure to keep an eye out for the author - he makes a cameo.

And marking the 25th anniversary of the nationally televised October, 1991 Senate hearings which sparked a nationwide debate on sexual harassment, HBO brings us Confirmation - starring Scandal's Kerry Washington as Anita Hill, The Wire's Wendell Pierce as Clarence Thomas, and a star-studded supporting ensemble. Written by Susannah Grant (Erin Brockovich) - who was inspired by the book Strange Justice (written by journalists Jane Mayer and Jill Abramson) and the 2013 documentary Anita by Oscar-winner Freida Lee Mock.
