In this episode, Jeannette talks to Justine Nunn, whose partner Alex Flynn recently passed away, from altitude sickness, just after he had summited Mira Peak, in Nepal. Alex had Parkinson´s, but he did not let that stop him from living his life to the full and helping others. He worked tirelessly to raise awareness and provide practical support to those living with Parkinson´s. Justine was with him every step of the way. She is now working to carry Alex´s legacy forward.
Jeannette and Justine talk about how Alex found the strength to run through Jungles, across America, London, Rome, and ultra-marathons, despite his disease. They talk about the symptoms of this extremely common disease and what to look out for. Justine also explains how she, Alex, and their boys adapted to the impact Parkinson´s had on their family lives. Justine also talks about how society treats people with the disease and how things need to change.
