We offer free senior housing location referral services for seniors and their families. This is a perfect blend of some passions I have and some skills that I’ve gained and mastered over the years through my prior profession when I was in education. I worked with all levels of students from pre-school to post-high school as a school psychologist. I’m a person who loves service in general for people and when I heard about a job as a senior living consultant I was immediately drawn to it because I also have background of serving seniors in homecare services as a side job, also my grandmother lived with us while I was in graduate school, she developed dementia, so I had to go through the process of finding assisted living for her.
If it were my family, I’d want to know what I’m recommending to someone to go to, so I go ahead and tour the place, meet the people that work there and do all that legwork for the family ahead of time.
Many people, when they think of a senior community, see a stale and sterile nursing home which didn’t feel fresh or invigorating. It’s worth looking into the options that are out there today because they can be quite lovely, comprehensive in the services they offer and inviting. There are many types of communities that represent the different levels of care.
