In this episode Ariel is joined by Stacy Heller, a business empath and intuitive, who helps people bring alive their vision and helps them do what they love. They talk about how to connect with your inner aliveness.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
For years I thought that I was really intelligent, but it turns out I’m just articulate and basically, a lot of the information that I was getting about things – opinion, suggestions, ideas, insights – were actually downloads of information (from nowhere that makes sense for who you’re working with or whoever the message is for) that had nothing to do with my intelligence. I just knew how to articulate them in a way that whomever I was talking to, working with, partnering with would understand.
People come to me looking for direction, messaging, how to move forward with their potential. My intuition comes into it because, again, I don’t necessarily know things about insurance, law or financial advice, but my clients are really varied, but the one thing they all have in common is that they want to be seen to be authentic and they want their message to be understood and that’s something I can do.
If I were to go back to school and study something, my whole body of research would be about exploring who we were when we were 6-8 years old and how we played, what was our imaginary play? It’s as applicable for women as it is for men, what did we do? What did we dream about before our parents forced us to take ballet or our friends said ‘that’s not cool’, or financial situations and awareness of social norms. What are the things that made us really happy, that place that we were content?
I have a friend that needed to make some extra money and it was going into the holidays and I said: “What do you like to do?” She replied: “When I was a kid I really enjoyed wrapping presents, I was really good at it, people always commented on it.” There you go, let people know you want to wrap presents and that you’d be happy to do it. She ended up not making a ton of money, but enough that she was able to do what was stressing her out and she had so much fun and went back to her childhood.
BEST MOMENTS“People that have really strayed from their earliest dreams but have a thin line to it that has stayed with them are happier than people who have completely snipped the line.”“Sometimes it helps to look at a picture of yourself between 6-8 and think ‘what was it that really made them happy?’ Are you doing anything that you can even remotely translate into what made you happy at that age? What makes your tail wag?”“The universe doesn’t hear negative, so all it does (when you say ‘I don’t want that') is remove the word ‘don’t’ and what it hears is ‘I want, I want, I want’. Now you’re getting all of these negative things. Also, replace the word ‘what’ with the word ‘and’.”“You can go to the pity party, but you can only stay for one drink. The aliveness of being upset or overwhelmed is a good feeling and you should feel it, but then you should step away and say you’ve had enough, otherwise you’ll start wallowing.”
