KEY TAKEAWAYS
There are a lot of things going on right now in the world and we need to pay attention to them, whether its if someone might have a gun around you or if someone is masking or not masking in a situation where there is a high level of covid, or in a social situation where you could potentially experience a threat to your safety.
There are four levels of situational awareness that people talk about: Being too now and not paying attention, being on high alert where there’s a confirmed threat and you have to act and focussed awareness which is carefully observing a potential threat and then there’s relaxed awareness which is enjoying life while paying attention. The goal is to live in relaxed awareness.
Be grounded. This is an energy thing, where you take the energy from your soul and have it all through your body. You’re aware of your feet, legs, torso, arms, neck, head, everything, you’re in yourself.
Unfortunately common sense is no longer common for many people, so you’re going to have to use yours when other people are not using theirs. Think about what the likelihood of the outcome of the actions of people will be. That will help you figure out what you’re going to do in order to avoid a negative possible outcome.

BEST MOMENTS
“Usually I’m an extremely positive person and I’m focussed on that, but it is something that we need to be aware of, when things around us are not going the way they could or should be from a safety perspective.”
“Situational awareness has been recognised as a critical yet often elusive foundation for successful decision making across a broad range of situations, many of which involve the protection of human life and property.”
“If you see something say something, that’s an example of exercising situational awareness.”
“You need to pay attention to who’s physically around you and if they could be watching you and where they’re headed – especially on the road, so you make sure they’re not going to drive into the space you’re heading into.”
