Description

Rachael is the founder of Welford Wellbeing, dedicated to helping everyone discover their "high vibes gateway to better mental health”.
Rachael is in discussion with Paul today about the subject of labels, and how the unfortunately all-too-common practice of labelling such complex beings as humans can lead to stigmatisation and misconception, and how we can do our part to dismantle these regrettable barriers.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Labels seek to limit our potential. By applying them to human beings, especially those who have faced challenges in life, we instantly stigmatise and restrict their capacity.
By instilling a sense of identity upon someone, we force them, sometimes unintentionally, to adhere to that expectation. This is especially true when it comes to children.
Most people have never truly experienced unconditional love. This makes it even more difficult for some, as how can we move towards a place of inner peace, when we have no reference point to guide us?
Affirmations work best if practiced in a certain format. They should be present tense, positive, and practiced persistently.
We are driven by awareness, bravery and choice, but many fail to recognise the choice aspect. Remember that even when we make no choice, we are subconsciously choosing not to choose. We are always in control.
BEST MOMENTS
‘I am not my label. I am far more than that’
‘Choose love over fear’
’The key thing is to challenge that inner critic'
‘Are you going to choose the inner-cheerleader, or the critic?'

ABOUT THE GUEST
Rachael is the founder of Welford Wellbeing.  She is on a mission to empower people to take control of their mental, emotional and spiritual health so they can live life on their terms and access their full potential.
Welford Wellbeing poses the question, "What if everything we knew about mental health was wrong?"
Rachael is an inspirational speaker and holistic therapist who has an infectious energy.  Sincere, not serious; she believes in rising together and enjoying life.
She teaches with passion and knowledge gained directly from personal experience of burn out, depression, anxiety and panic attacks.  Having had a breakdown following years of unhealthy coping mechanisms, she decided to face her issues and change her life.  Through this process, as well as extensive training, she has established solid practices that enabled her to not only rebuild her life but launch a business helping others thrive in the same conditions.  This warrants a unique perspective which is delivered in an authentic way.  Often acting as the bridge between spirituality and science, magic and the mainstream Rachael creates an inclusive place of self-discovery, inviting people to join her on a journey to master their mental health and overall wellbeing.
Having worked with a variety of companies from Spotify, Soho House, The Ministry, Reuters, Havas International, TFL and Barbican to NME, lululemon, and Rude Health, Rachael creates unique wellbeing experiences, which inspire others to cultivate self-awareness and build lasting change.

ABOUT THE HOST
One thing that’s never been attached to Paul is the label ‘normal’ – something he is totally aware of.  He definitely subscribes to being one of those mentioned the iconic ‘Think Different’ Apple commercial narrated by Steve Jobs in 1977:
“Here's to the crazy ones, the misfits, the rebels, the troublemakers, the round pegs in the square holes... the ones who see things differently -- they're not fond of rules.  You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them, but the only thing you can't do is ignore them because they change things... they push the human race forward, and while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius, because the ones who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do!”
Paul has a long and distinguished history of coaching & mentoring – particularly focusing on helping people make the transition from pain to purpose; a journey he has made himself, from the depths of a deep dark existence, to now living a life of happiness and prosperity.
Through this Mastering The Game Of Life podcast, and books he has been involved in – including being a best-selling co-author – Paul also helps others to get their own inspirational messages and stories out into the world; as well as offering support to many charitable organisations, in their development & fund-raising.
